Learn More About Me and My Art

Hi, I’m Mikkena! I live in Boulder Colorado with my husband and our dog, Poncho. I love the outdoors, cooking/baking, fashion, road trips, getting coffee downtown, hanging out with the people I love, and all creative things.

For me, being an artist is about nostalgia and creation. I use old things to create new art, giving these found items new life. Using physical mixed media, I contribute a distinct type of art into the world that is uncommon and unique, each piece one of a kind.

I approach making collages like doing a puzzle, except I don’t know what pieces I'm going to use when I start. After gathering and searching for the pieces that feel just right, I making something that has never existed before.

I hope to instill my art with feelings of wanderlust, inspiration, comfort, and adventure.

My goal is to share a story and a deeper meaning with each piece that I create.
